Sustainability
Our guiding corporate mission is to transform retail real estate strategically, thoughtfully, and responsibly into mixed-use, dominant destinations that are carefully curated to offer a unique-to-market experience that serves the needs and wants of the community. From an ESG perspective, this means implementing and maintaining environmental, social, and governance programs and practices that foster a sustainable future and lead to improvements in the communities where we do business.
As Earth Day celebrations get underway, it’s also important to note the many ways in which Valencia Town Center and its owner, Centennial, have been responsible stewards of the environment in Valencia. Centennial created its “SEE Centennial” program to help lead the properties it manages toward the goal of making the next evolution of each shopping center a greener one. SEE Centennial was built on the three cornerstones of Sustainability, Efficiency and the Environment, something each of the company’s owned or managed shopping centers is encouraged to embrace. By implementing SEE Centennial principles, at Valencia Town Center, the center’s individual conservation efforts diverted 33% of the shopping center’s 2024 waste products from landfills, a significant environmental benefit for the city of Valencia and the Santa Clarita Valley.
Other important milestones Valencia Town Center has achieved over the past year include:
· 640 Total Tons of Waste Recycled
· 21,349 Cubic Yards of Landfill Space Saved
· 10,888 Mature Trees Saved
· 256,192 Gallons of Oil Conserved
At Valencia Town Center, environmental stewardship is an important part of creating a sustainable future and another way the center supports its commitment to the city of Valencia on Earth Day and every day in between.
